Forestier Gravity - A Contemporary Interpretation of the traditional Asian Lantern

Taking inspiration from traditional Asian arts and culture, the Ukrainian designer Kateryna Sokolova created the Forestier Gravity Collection. Its painted iron metal framework involves a series of stacked discs that gradually change in shape to create a layered shade around its central lamping. An LED light source beams down from a slender socket, casting its light downward over and throughout the frame. A solid cone rests at the center of the piece, funneling light and adding striking visual depth.
