The Denmark-based brand Umage (formerly known as Vita Copenhagen) was founded in 2008 with a mission to make exclusive Danish lamp and furniture design accessible worldwide, all the while producing and manufacturing their products with a genuine conscience for the environment. The name "Umage" in Danish means "to make an effort", which the brand strives for every day.
The company's lamps and furniture pieces are characterized by classic Scandinavian simplicity. Clean lines, geometric shapes, and exciting material choices all run as a common theme throughout the brand's assortment. Inspiration is taken from Scandinavian landscapes and nature, and the forms and shapes seen in their products are often reminiscent of object found in nature, such as flowers and pinecones.

Søren Ravn Christensen founded Vita Copenhagen (which would later become Umage) in 2008, after accidentally discovering one of his father's lamps in a vintage shop. From then on, his goal has been to create timeless designs that last forever - something Umage has mastered with designs that break the mold.
The company became famous in 2010 with the Silvia pendant lamp, which resembles a huge pinecone. In 2012 company launched the Eos light fixtures made of real feathers.
In 2018 the brand stepped into a new chapter when it officially switched the name from Vita Copenhagen to Umage. This year the brand also started offering furniture and home accessories in addition to lighting products.
