In Australien braucht man vier Dinge, um als Stadt zu gelten: eine Telefonzelle, einen Briefkasten, einen Geldautomaten (früher war es eine Bankfiliale) und eine Kneipe. Parachilna ist eine der letzten Städte vor der Einmündung in die australische Wüste nördlich von Adelaide. Die kleine Stadt inspirierte Alfredo Valero und Roman Riera schließlich dazu, ein Luxusbeleuchtungsunternehmen zu gründen, das sich der dauerhaften Handwerkskunst verschrieben hat und dabei von europäischen Metallschmieden, Glasbläsern, Keramikern und anderen erfahrenen Handwerkern unterstützt wurde.
