Meet the designer
Václav Mlynář
Václav Mlynář has been the Creative Director of BOMMA since 2017, where he curates new collections, initiates collaborations, and oversees all creative outcomes, guiding the brand's direction alongside the BOMMA team. A designer and studio owner based in Prague, Mlynář holds master's degrees in Product Design from the Royal College of Art in London and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. His international experience spans the Czech Republic, the U.S., Denmark, and London. From 2011 to 2020, he co-led the award-winning product design studio deFORM with Jakub Pollág. In 2020, he focused on his own product studio, VM, and his spatial/interior architecture studio, MONUMENT Office. Since 2019, Mlynář has taught Product Design at NC State University in Prague. His designs for BOMMA include the Mussels, Ama, and Buoy collections, which balance design and sculpture, showcasing the uniqueness of hand-blown glass
